@nuclearum so far I've had success teaching it to one friend who's not technically inclined, though she has a very learning oriented attitude towards computers and software in general. gpg4win makes the process a bit easier because I can get them using Kleopatra if they're afraid of the command line. · 6 months ago

I think GPG is very complex for newbies, if you and friends are using email servers supporting imap/smtp then you can use something more easy like DeltaChat this use autocrypt for encryption is like messenger but using email. · 6 months ago

@sarmun same. But I can sign my emails whether or not they want to check my signatures. I wouldn’t expect them to manually check signatures on a regular basis, but it doesn’t remove their usefulness. · 6 months ago
