I'm not interested in starving twenty-somethings being given the social media keys to major brands. I'm not interested in parasocial relationships with people from the TV. What I'm interested in, as ever, is meeting interesting people in the dive bars at the edge of cyberspace, even if just briefly, if only for the barest moment. At Cohost, Mastodon, here, and on the small web. If it's good, it's only because of us.

This made me a little interested in cohost. I've seen it off and on but didn't know it was being used that much?

30 Day Writing Challenge

17) Post about your zodiac sign, and whether or not it fits you.

I honestly dislike zodiac sign stuff and I'm in a cranky mood as I am recovering from illness and still not 100% but here I go.

Element: Water

I do love the beach and swimming and drinking too much iced tea and water.

Color: Mauve, Lilac, Purple, Violet, Sea green

I like these colors.

Greatest Compatibility: Virgo, Taurus

I'm married to a different sign, so lol. Long time too.

Strengths: Compassionate, artistic, intuitive, gentle, wise, musical

I'm not many of these things. I'm more of a boulder that desires creativity but is bad at it. I also struggle with music.

Weaknesses: Fearful, overly trusting, sad, desire to escape reality, can be a victim or a martyr

Dang this stuff hits more. I definitely was desiring to escape reality when I was sick. πŸ˜‚

Pisces likes: Being alone, love, sleeping, music, romance, swimming, spiritual themes

About 50%. I like being alone, sleeping and swimming. I dislike love, romance and spritual stuff. I find that boring.

Pisces dislikes: Know-it-all, being criticized, the past coming back to haunt, cruelty of any kind

I feel like these are incredibly generic traits aside from the cruelty. Who like being criticized and the consequences of their actions coming to get them?

Pisces is a very friendly sign, often finding themselves in the company of diverse people. They are selfless and always willing to help others, which is admirable as long as they don't expect too much in return. Individuals born with their Sun in Pisces possess an intuitive understanding of the life cycle, forming incredible emotional relationships with others based on the natural order and their senses.

I actually really struggle with intutivity and relationships, so not me.

Pisces is a Water sign, which concludes the cycle of Cancer and Scorpio, dispersing everything that happened in the past and changing people's relative views on forgiveness. Pisces individuals are characterized by empathy and incredible emotional capacity, but only if they maintain strong boundaries and do not let external emotions overwhelm them.

I kind of don't know what this means?

The ruling planets of Pisces are Neptune and Jupiter, and intuition is their strongest suit. Pisces individuals are connected to art, music, and any form of liberal expression, and every representative of this sign possesses a talent they need to use to feel creative and free. While tolerant and compassionate, they can sometimes do too much for others out of good intentions, forgetting about their own wellbeing in the process.

I'm pretty selfish and uncreative so not me.

Pisces - the Loving Fish represents two people skinny dipping and suddenly transforming into two fish swimming around each other in a crystal-clear lake. The sign is often associated with its historical and mythological background as the follower of Capricorn. Fear can drive Pisces individuals away from loved ones, push them into romance, or leave them feeling unwilling and powerless. Still, love helps them swim through even the muddiest waters to find the one their heart desire. They are not in search of just any love, but rather their soulmate, someone who connects with them at a deep level, ready to exchange everything they have with their Pisces partner throughout their entire shared lifetime and beyond.

I wonder about this. I am married and like my partner a lot. He is my partner in crime. But this reads a lot more romantic than we really are?

Pisces & Aquarius Sexual & Intimacy Compatibility

My partner is Aquarius so checking this out.

Sex - 50% - Per my sign I shoul desire it more and be super creative and full of feelings but I'm not like that at all in real life.

Trust - 50%

Aquarian nature can be a bit aggressive from time to time and their personal rebellious needs don’t actually help Pisces feel secure enough to share intimate thoughts. The potential emotional dependency of Pisces can make Aquarius partner give in to their perfect lying skills in order to feel freer.

Interesting as I tend to overshare with my partner and he is too blunt to enjoy lying.

Communitcation and Intelligent - 35%

They can dream well together, but unfortunately they will hardly ever make any dreams come true. The lack of reality in their relationship could hurt them both and they might not even know where the problem hides, while they feel frustrated by their relationship. The sign of Pisces should be able to ground Aquarius partner’s ideas because their element is closer to earth. However, they often get lost on their way to do anything real, especially when they don’t feel it is in the path of their own mission.
The understanding between them doesn’t always go very deep and although they can have a lot of fun together, they will have different approaches to the same things that interest them. For example, if they start talking about religion, they will end up in a philosophy battle that has no real value. By the end of it, Pisces will feel bad because they even tried to rationalize their faith, and Aquarius will feel like they have been talking to a foggy image of something resembling an opinion.

I like the conversations I have with my partner. We are always learning from eachother. I also feel like we are a good team and get a lot accomplished. So I don't relate to this at all.

Emotions - 1%

Aquarius is distant and impersonal while Pisces can’t wait to get tied to someone from their fairytale love. Their relationship could be exhausting for Pisces partner if they try too hard to find the response for the feelings they might have. The distance of their partner will most certainly exalt them and create a special emotional rollercoaster for Pisces that could lead straight to disappointment.
They could make a safe emotional environment for each other only if the initiative comes from Aquarius partner alone. Pisces would have to be completely silent, uninvolved, feminine and reactive. As soon as idealization appears, the fine balance will be shaken and the sense of freedom for Aquarius will be disturbed.

Another thing I don't connect with. I think I am a practical person and find fairytale love boring. Also it tends to be gender stereotypical and that massively puts me off. Also, I'm not very feminine so reading that is weird.

Values - 50%

The link between these signs simply doesn’t let them get too far from one another and their values will mostly be the same, but entirely different in their realization. They will both value freedom of any kind, love for humankind, excitement, change, inspiration and their ideas and dreams. For Aquarius, this love for humankind would mean absolute justice, equality and freedom of speech. For Pisces, it would mean the eternal sound of the ocean as a blessing bringing us here. If we apply this significant character difference to all other things they value together, we will see that they will need a lot of deep understanding to mend their differences.

What strikes me as unusual is the idea that differences are difficult to reconcile? I feel like my partner's differences add a lot and make him interesting. Also dating myself would be obnoxious?

Shared Activities - 40%

It is a good thing that the sign of Pisces is always open for change, because Aquarius will gladly provide some. Their interests can be quite similar and with certain compromises they could find a lot to do together. Pisces will gladly visit an art show, but why not make it a modern one so Aquarius could be interested as much? Their problem is in the perception of romance and disagreements on things couples should do together. Pisces partner will want unusual, surprising and exciting things, but followed with romance, physical pleasure and deep emotional understanding. Aquarius partner, on the other hand, will want inspiring conversations, intellectual stimulation and preferably some extreme activities included.

My partner can't do extreme activities due to life long disabilities, but probably would if his health is better. I guess the idea is weird that I don't want inspiring conversations and intellectual stimulation? I am ok with that!

Overall - 38%

We have been together for nearly 20 years, so guess we beat the odds. πŸ˜†

Overall I don't connect with my sign, especially regarding my marriage. I don't find my partnership a struggle like the horoscope says it should be?

Just finished Planetfall for Emma Newman. Its weird, expects you to figure shit out and has a lot of strange bits that actually come together. Its a space colony story exploring faith, the flaws of people and about letting go.

Prompts for Space Opera September this completes: Stage 2 - after 2010s

I am now working on Escaping Exodus by Nicky Drayden. This one is even stranger.

21) What three lessons do you want your children to learn from you?

I have no kids, but lessons anyone can learn from me:

1) Do not believe the voice that says, "I'll remember that later". Put it in a calendar/planner immediately if its time sensitive. If not, put it on a to do list.

2) Lots of alarms to not miss... anything that requires a specific time/day.

3) Naps are good.
