Did the mechanism behind this link: New post in u/<username> change? I ask, because this morning I exercised that, pasting text into the buffer presented by the ":" special command, and then noted a typo... so I went down the "Edit post" and then "Edit body" path as usual, re-pasted the fixed post, saved... ... and suddenly noticed my post had *two* '#' level headers. It appears as though Bubble is now separating the '#' level header from said upload buffer into a post "title", keeping the...

I've noticed the first line of posts I put in u/oldernow seem to be rendered as though a heading of sorts, despite the fact I don't preface them with #/##/###. I'm wondering, is it okay for me to intentionally make those gemtext headings? Or will that muck with whatever seems to be doing that for me? And if I do that, which heading level should I be using so it appears the same heading level as what is being done automatically? I ask because I'd like to mirror my posts elsewhere, and want...

Bubble v6.14 — BBS has been updated to Bubble v6.14 with a number of bug fixes and minor improvements: Fixed publishing a draft comment in an issue tracker. Fixed error message when trying to create a subspace but the name is already in use. Fixed post summary if the content starts with a hash (accidental Gemtext heading). A subspace moderator can delete their subspace if it's empty. Poll author sees the results even if they haven't voted. Strip file/image attachment URL or link from the...

BBS updated to Bubble v6.12 — The recent prankster/troll registrations have necessitated a few changes to the previously fully open registration policy. Rather than entirely disabling user account creation, new accounts are now created with limited access rights. New accounts can only set up their profile and make posts in their user feed, without the posts appearing in any other feed (All Posts, Gemini/Atom feeds). @admin (i.e., me) will review all new accounts and then grant full access. New...

Probably dumb questions, but: 1) Does one's Bubble "gemini feed" present the equivalent of a "gemlog"? 2) If the answer to (1) is "yes", can anyone with a Gemini client visit it, or does one need to be a logged-in Bubble user to visit it?

Oooooh! So you can sort the comments by oldest-first on Bubble... Beautiful! A much more natural reading experience this way... For those of you who were wondering, it's in the "Settings" page of your user dashboard.

[[SOLVED]] Hi...Bubble asks for a client certificate to upload an image, when I already have one, since I'm here... What's going on? Thanks!

@skyjake If we mute someone in Bubble, can they see and respond to our posts? I hope the answer is no.

— Stated issue.

How do you "attach" a commit to a issue in a Issue tracker? Example of this implemented, issue 93 in s/Bubble-issues. I think only admins can?

I just found out how to give thanks to a specific comment in a thread, you have to click on the user link above the comment (that was not obvious to me)

Auto-paragraph-break feature? I've been editing a lot lately, and automatically breaking paragraphs for editing may be a good thing. When writing a quick post, it is tempting to break up paragraphs with Ctrl-Enter. Whil it works visually, editing such posts requires manually copying the post and pasting it into the edit dialog; LaGrange's 'paste previous line' deletes everything but the previous line! The editor allows paragraph-at-a-time editing, but only if you have the foresight to enter...

Mail frequency, or in other words Daily Digests — I appreciate when services provide a 'daily digest' consisting of all of the day's updates, rather than periodic notifications throughout the day. I'd like to request that users' email settings include a frequency variable, or some flag that would make it so that I only get notified of Bubble updates once per day.

RFC: Timezone in Bubble for user profiles? — I was thinking about a user-configurable timezone in Bubble profiles. Not to change the displayed dates, but just to show others the time difference to themselves. I think Github users can have this on their profiles. Then other users, who have setup their timezone, can optionally see the time difference in comments, maybe next to the username. I'm not sure if this goes against the somewhat slower pace in Geminispace compared to the (realtime) web....

Can the "edit form" be pre populated with the original text to be edited? I am new to the gemini protocol, and do not know if that is even possible given the minimalistic requests and responses it supports.

Uploading pictures to the /s/Photography -- experiencing some weirdness. I haven't fully figured it out, but Dragging image file onto upload dialog requires hitting the upload button twice (first time nothing happens) I lose title or caption almost every time. Have to look more carefully at how that happens, will report.

A nitpicky suggestion: When viewing comments, the final (generated) line that shows the date and 'days ago' runs right into the text. It would be a little more readable if it were indented, perhaps with a couple of dashes or one of those dots... -- 2023-07-18 3 weeks ago Also, sometimes BBS does not add that line to a comment... What's that about?

Hierarchical subreddit system — Has anyone seen this before? [https link] Seems to be some sort of hierarchical subreddit system.

BBS has been updated to Bubble v6.3. Summary of changes since v6.0: Fixed issues with inserting and moving segments in the composer. Particularly when inserting content with "Move/actions", the new segment would not end up in the right position. Fixed updating the post preview after moving or deleting segments. If a published post becomes empty after editing (removing title and all segments, with no comments), the post is automatically unpublished. Strip all whitespace from the end of...

Request for a downvote button The upvote button is a great feature to put interesting and quality posts to the top when sorting by hot. What constitutes quality is subjective, therefore having the ability to downvote content that is disinteresting or low quality helps to counter-balance articles that get overinflated with likes. Another solution would be to have a new/hot hybid sort method where the last three newest low vote/no vote threads take the first three slots, followed by the top...

How about other noticiations for Bubble posts? — I was thinking about the notication mails for Bubble posts and thought if it would be good to have other channels for notifications, e.g. XMPP. I have no idea how that would be possible, it would kind of plays into the don't use big services thing that gemini does

i see the comments are in the 'newest first' order. today i continued my post with comments, and i see the first comment is a continuation of a second. people usually scroll from up to down, so i guess the default way of having up to down comments chronologically would be better. otherwise they need to read the post, then go down, then gradually navigate upwards. also i can imagine that the click on the arrow which shows order of comments(it is upward now, and i cannot find the way to change...

🔥 Sm0key

tip for those who would like to post photos to bubble on their android phone: the app 'imagepipe' both strips all metadata for privacy and also has a image quality/compression slider to easily find a balance between resolution and the 100kb cap

— u/skyjake Atom feed

Bubble v6.0: Atom Feeds, Expanded Help — This Bubble feature update is a smaller one as we're still in the summer vacation period, but there are a couple of useful additions. Atom Feeds You can now get an Atom feed of All Posts, subspaces, user feeds, issue tracker feeds, and tag-filtered feeds. In other words, everything that was available as a Gemini feed can now also be accessed as an Atom feed. These new feeds contain the...

Pseudo Federation Idea — An idea popped into my head regarding Bubble and "federation". I think it was discussed previously that making the Bubble software federate with other instances would add too much code and complexity. My idea is a kind of pseudo federation. I'm thinking on a user level you could combine posts from multiple subspaces into one feed. But instead of just multiple subspaces from the same instance, it could be posts from a different instance's subspace. More specifically,...

A random Bubble tip I've been intending to mention: user and subspace names are case-insensitive but case-preserving. This means you can change the capitalization of your names without breaking any links. For example: /u/SKYJAKE User accounts can be renamed in Settings and subspaces can be renamed on the subspace admin page.
