the moment when you realize that the meditation series you're doing has a technique that makes your condition worse is awful ๐Ÿ˜” looks like I gotta restart again and try the next technique

I think the single biggest contributor to my anxiety levels has been lifting weights. For the longest time I thought it wasn't for me, since I considered myself a nerd and I hated sports in school. But it turned out it was just what I needed. It's like ctrl alt deleting my brain, lifting heavy stuff. I can't even remember whatever I was worrying about before picking up the bar, whatever it was it sure doesn't seem like an issue to worry about anymore after. ยท 2 years ago

Meditation is (largely) a way to internalise, examine, and control yourself. Unfortunately over-self-analysis and over-self-control can be a contributing factor of things such as depression.

Some things can be solved by self-analysis, but I suspect it is fewer than meditation gurus claim. ยท 2 years ago

Isn't meditation just being a therapist for yourself? ยท 2 years ago

guess meditation doesn't replace therapy unless you're a trained monk or something ๐Ÿ˜† ยท 2 years ago

It seems to sit differently with different people. Meditation has only ever made me feel uneasy and anxious. ยท 2 years ago
