I just got an trademark violation notification just for using "gemini" inside the URL of my capsule by gemini.com (not that I think its legit). But did something like that occurred to anyone else?

gemini.com: tries to trademark troll the gemini community
gemini community: You came to the wrong neighborhood, motherfucker! Laywer up.
gemini.com: understandable, have a nice day. · 1 year ago
Of course they are just trying to shake me, their trademark is (probably) not even valid in my jurisdiction. So the worst can happen is that my hosting provider bans me, but someone else will also take my money. Nevertheless, trademarks on common words is a strange concept. · 1 year ago
They're literally trying to shake you. They've got zero case, here's their pat app (https://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=4802:n2pord.3.1). If they give you serious trouble, a quick letter from a lawyer (you don't even need full service) will shut them up. They are literally banking on you not talking to a lawyer. They've got absolutely nothing to back their claim that you're infringing. Once they find out you might lawyer up, they'll disappear faster than a fart in a tornado. · 1 year ago
Cryptocurrency is almost universally horrible shit, and copyright law applied to the Internet is even worse. I'd ignore the claim (not a lawer lol) · 1 year ago

LMAO imagine thinking you can trademark the word gemini, I mean its a friggin zodiac sign AND the name of a historic NASA space program for fucks sake. Some random cryptocurrency exchange schmucks dont get to just claim trademark exclusivity over a common name in the english language like that. Its like back in 2016 with React-World where the fine bros tried to trademark the word "react" AND the reaction video format, then tried to copyright claim the entire genre on youtube. gemini.com can shove that trademark notification right back into their asshole where it came from · 1 year ago
