ROOPHLOCH --- Fancy Ideas?
tags: roophloch
So, the "connection test" entry made it to ew.srht.site and Antenna, yay! Thank's ~solderpunk, you made me try something new.
Fancy Ideas?
- Another way to achieve ROOPHLOCH could be this: Type the text of the post on my small notebook, refresh indeces, checksums, and the signature like today. Commit to local git repository. But then, some magic would move the "git push" asynchronously via nncp and some magic, as soon as the notebook is connected to the home network again, without manual interference. It's somewhat questionable, but who knows. John Goerzen has me covered with some documentation.
- And of course I could use my pair of LoRa USB sticks to achieve some connectivity. Probably super slow, and maybe only transfering the text to some magic directory, where it is picked up by some magic automation.
- And while at it, replace those LoRa sticks (from crowdsupply) with some home brew microcontroller plus HopeRF RFM69HW magic. However, September 2023 is too short for this one, at least on my table.
- And for much increased coolness (at least imho) replace that radio link with a bidirectional diy laser link. There is a castle nearby, unobstructed view of maybe 5 km or so. That could work with modest optics. Some folks in Utah iirc have covered a long distance (near 100 mls) using a laser connection.
Ok, so I'll ask ~solderpunk to count this post as my official entry to ROOPHLOCH 2023. Thanks.
