Focusing on time spent over outcome

By having classes, i have things i can't work around. Been experimenting with setting aside "class time" for things outside of class as well.

I've previously discovered that i can avoid burnout and maintain focus doing pomodoro times where i take a break regularly regardless of flow. This is so helpful! But now i decided to make myself have a class timetable and just fill in the classes with anything else.

What i mean is, every hour of my time is assigned to a thing i need to do. And then in that hour i will do the thing, and when the hour is up i stop doing the thing. Even if i haven't finished it. If i need to finish it, it can go in another class.

The point here is that if i set myself a todo saying "read this paper" or "finish this book", i will procrastinate so hard on it. I don't know why, maybe it's just a bit scary to finish things. But then, if i don't care about the finishing of the thing and just the doing of the thing, i can just concentrate on the doing and i get it done way better.

I've used this technique to for the first time ever read all the required reading before class. Maybe it'll be useful to other people too
