I has taken me longer than expected, but I have finished reading "The Last Wish" by Andrzej Sapkowski.
Although I haven't played any of the games inspired by the work of Sapkowski and his character Geralt of Rivia, I watched the first season of The Witcher (at the time I'm writing this, is the only season, although the second one is coming later this year). And it is interesting that, initially, watching that series I thought Henry Cavill was Superman, but now he's the image of Geralt in my head; so I would say that having watched the series first improved my experience of the book (luckily Dandelion is less annoying in the book than the character portrayed by Joey Batey as Jaskier -Dandelion in Polish, the series didn't translate the name-).
It is a book of short stories and, in general, it is well written (and I didn't find anything off in the English translation); although not all the stories are equally interesting. I didn't remember all the details from watching the series, and there are a few notable differences between what Sapkowski wrote and the Netflix production, so the story was fresh to me -even if I knew some things would happen; the first season covers more than this first book-.
I managed to read one or two chapters almost every day, before going to bed, although that meant I have reduced a my gamedev time. Which isn't terrible because I'm not too inspired anyway.
I had a blog -that I closed this year after almost 18 years-, and I tracked there the books I read. I should start using a spreadsheet or something like that instead, because I can't tell for sure when I last finished a book, but it feels long time ago. Now I need to decide what to read next. May be "Sword of Destiny"? Not sure!
