I don't write to much about Gemini on Gemini But as I was gazing at Jupiter last night, 'it's very bright in the sky at the moment' i had a thought about writhing a gemlog about Jupiter and it's current alignment making it a very noticeable feature in our night sky.
So how does a thought on writing about a very bright object in the night sky 'Jupiter' pertain to the Gemini protocol?
I don't know!
I guess they are both related as extraterrestrial entities one being a large gas giant 'Planet' and the other being a series of space missions involving the Gemini rockets.
Anyway thoughts about gas giants and rockets aside, Gemini is a great platform to just hangout and write what ever is on your mind, like this random piece I am writing now.
The web was once this way also, but unfortunately when something becomes profitable it inevitably becomes corrupted, this has happened to the web. it is full of rubbish content purely written to make a profit, with clickbait titles and with a bit of hatred and division thrown in for good measure, you have a great article perfect for generating profit.
Now I am not against make money on the web, that is perfectly fine and there are some great writers, content creators and journalists out there but, this brings me to something else, something that is amazing and can is incredibly helpful and somewhat revolutionary, but has become so corrupted and is being used for insidious reasons.
AI Is an amazing technology and can do so many great things in the sciences, the medical world etc, but again, as always If you can make money out of it, it will inevitably become corrupted. Which is what has happened, a great technology, but from good old fashioned greed, some people, and some very high profile people, AI has become corrupted and insidious and sadly we need to be very couscous and probably hesitant about using it, not because of the AI but because of the people behind it.
Why is Gemini any safer or better? AI can scrape Gemini, Yes it can and it probably does to some degree. The difference is the information on Gemini is not there for profit, it's there because people want to put it there, they are genuinely interested in writing stories, life events or just pointless rambles like myself. AI could easily write content for Gemini but what's the point?
I guess you could try to profit from Gemini but I think it would be pointless as the protocol is designed to be open.
In the future I don't know how Gemini will evolve, I do think it will still be around though. As far as the web goes, if trends keep going the way they are, I believe it will become so commercial and absolutely flooded with AI generated fodder, it will cannibalise and consume itself. AI + AI = extinction.
We see this in socialites, Humans that hold onto tribal mentality, go around in circles, never move forward and eventually die out. The sadly reality though, is out of fear they try to take everyone with them.
Will AI become it's own tribe that eventually consumes it's self? Probably yes?
I'm so glad Gemini exists, a place were human minds are allowed to flourish.
