Oftentimes there are sparrows flying around my neighborhood. One day morning, I put a pinch of raw rice on the window ledge, waiting for a while, but nobody shown up; I then leave for work. And when I went back home in the evening, I noticed that the rice was gone—they’ve come before.
Next morning, I put another pinch of raw rice again, and not long after, I saw two sparrows coming for breakfast together. Since then, I refilled the rice—sometimes raw rice and sometimes brown rice—everyday, and more sparrows visiting my window ledge routinely—from adults to children, up to eight at the same time.
Now, every night, I put a handful of millet—which they seem to like it the most—on my window ledge. And since their visit usually takes place around 20 minutes after sunrise, this become my natural alarm clock, no battery needed.
