If you watched a video from Drew DeVault called "Forks & pull requests versus emails", you may have noticed captions exist.
The "Forks & pull requests versus emails" video
That's because I captioned the video, gave the captions to Drew, and he added it to the video.
The reason I made captions is because well, in general, I must turn up the volume to 11. That's because the audio is quite quiet, not being loud enough for me at normal volumes (and probably for others).
This is especially evident in some talks like the video "Introducing the Hare programming language".

Today, I have captioned more videos:
"Introduction to the Himitsu secret key store"
"Short GitHub patch workflow demo"
I think I emailed Drew outside of his work time which is when he reads emails, so the captions are probably only going to be added tomorrow morning (when he starts reading emails again).
My plan is to caption all of his videos except for maybe live streams (and obviously, videos that lack any speech at all).
("AI upscaling is not 'remastering'" video which has no speech)
Update from the future: I will be adding more videos that I have captioned below:
"How to use git.sr.ht's send-email feature"
"Code review at the speed of email"
