Fresh (2022)

Fresh (2022) on Letterboxd

It's been several weeks since I watched a movie. The last movie I watched was Palm Trees and Power Lines and although I found the ending a bit frustrating, I also found myself empathising with Lea and liking the movie a lot. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Noa.

Palm Trees and Power Lines [5/5]

I love how this film started out. Noa, a girl who finds herself alone and unable to find a decent guy to date, comes across Steve, a somewhat charming guy in a grocery store. They talk and exchange phone numbers. They end up meeting, having sex, and decide to go out somewhere. Steve invites Noa to his house and that's where things go wrong.

I won't spoil the movie further but I found myself appreciating almost 85% of the runtime. The last 15% of the runtime is where things start to get harder to believe and frustrating. Would you really risk your life for your smartphone?!

Still, I'd say that this was another refreshing take on a familiar theme.

I hereby rate this movie a 3 out of 5.
