Re: "Lagrange android doesn't play any sound files"
when audio files do play (on Mac and iPhone), it’s impossible to navigate within them, to go back a bit if I missed something or skip to a specific part.
in a related note, on Lagrange for iPhone audio won’t play until the file is fully downloaded, while on Mac, playback begins, while the file is still downloading. This part doesn’t bother me, it’s just a bit odd.

Lagrange's audio code on Android is very much a placeholder. In the future, it should use the OS-provided media codecs to actually do the playback.
I recall there is an issue with streaming audio because the data is coming in via Gemini. I suppose it should be possible to setup a streaming memory buffer as the source for media playback.

@satch:
it’s impossible to navigate within them
That is correct, seeking is not supported in the inline player on any platform currently.
would it be possible to get the "Download linked file" to work though when there is a player? That would enable me to listen to Gemini music on the phone with another player as a workaround. Currently nothing seems to happen when I tap that option.

@johan On my Android device, I can select "Download linked file" by long-pressing on the link that points to an audio file (don't open the inline player), and then clicking on the downloaded file in the inline download box, after it has finished downloading, pops up a native Android audio player. Works with MP3 and Ogg Vorbis for me.
@skyjake ahh ok, I did some more testing and found that it works like you describe it, but only if the built in player has not been shown. After that, that link cannot be downloaded, even if the player is closed with the x. Reloading the page resolves the issue.
@skyjake Just found this issue! Seems like it's still a problem. I think currently there's no other android clients that can stream audio files right now, unfortunately.

I tried multiple pages with different sound files (music, podcasts etc) and none of them produce any sound, seekbar stays at 0:00. Example URL:
