I wonder what the actual retention is for Gemini users over a 6 month period? I've been noticing a trend while browsing capsules that there's a LOT of them with a few entries spanning 1-3months then dead silence forevermore. What's the deal man? Even the youtubers that introduced me to gemini like DistroTube killed their capsule.

(1) I do not want to communicate in English, I would like to have Udmurt, I would like to have Czech community here. Nobody knows about Gemini :'( · 1 year ago

But, (2) I am an introvert reader only. Idea that I will more open to others was just a mistake · 1 year ago

I can tell about me. Initially I was really excited from Gemini as antagonist of modern web and I was kind of active here. · 1 year ago

We need more interesting and interactive capsules to retain growth imo · 1 year ago

I think that's a common phenomenon for any new platform. Some people hop in after hearing some hype about it to see what it's all about then it doesn't really stick. Others join the fun because they genuinely like the concept and those are the ones that usually stick around. · 1 year ago

I'd say it's no different than setting up a personal homepage and then neglecting it, -- which is/was always a thing on the web. We just don't notice it that much anymore · 1 year ago

Maybe it’s just a fad for most. You could almost see this as a good thing as it won’t become another WWW. · 1 year ago

No wonder I didn't find DistroTube's capsule in all the Gemini search engines.

Station is why I stayed on Gemini for as long as it is. There's more human interaction here. It feels more like a community instead of a decentrailized email chain with all the RE: titles. · 1 year ago
