I got a negative review for my game, and man did it send me in a deep depression. I slept rough for days…
I fixed every bug the review mentioned since (except for mouselook, it works fine for me, and I haven’t heard anyone I know complain either, so can’t recreate), but it feels like the review has really knocked my confidence down.

There are streamers and video creators out there who sadly make it their whole thing to punch down at small indie creators of all people. You never would have pleased them or their fans, and it sounds like your game came out better for all the things you were able to fix and improve. · 10 months ago
Fixing bugs is nice. You know what else that guy did that was really helpful? He showed you a shitload of assholes you never need to please 😄 None of them would have played your game anyway. They’re not gamers, just complainers. 100% not your target audience. · 10 months ago
@martin Yeah, there have been more positive reviews so far, and some telling me they love the game, but it was hard watching this guy’s stream to figure out what to improve and seeing the stram’s chat jump on a hate bandwagon. · 10 months ago
I know that feeling. You have to remind yourself that 1) a positive outcome has emerged if the game is now improved, and 2) it's just someone's opinion – it doesn't devalue the work you put in, and there are probably more people with no complaints at all having a good time due to your effort. Try not to give it more power than it deserves. · 10 months ago
