Animated images of any format are currently not a priority.
GIFs are not animating either, only the first frame is shown.

Some of us object to the visual noise, although it could be an option I suppose.
after considering this a bit futher, i guess gemini people are not fans of animated logos, so it is quite ok
Support for webp animated images possible? I have tried various image formats on gemini and found that Lagrange supports static webp images, but not animated ones. I am not sure if animated images are a priority, for now I assume only GIfs work
