Have been running 5km + 3km weeks for a while now simce I took running back up. Today put in an extra run for this week and managed to put in an 8km :)
Is astrobotany down at the mo? My signals not great but other capsules seem ok. Astro just giving me a timeout.
When you take the kids to a new park out of town for a cheap day out and then you end up spending close to ยฃ50 on two rounds of drinks and some icecreams for a family of four as a treat after :/
Ordered a FHD IPS panel upgrade for my x270 mid week. It arrived a day early and was installed lastnight. It looks so much better and roomier. Was a bit worried about buying a chinese panel from eBay but so far so good.
Just spent 4hrs at Saltburn-by-the-Sea, UK. It was a pleasant seafront. Busy but not overly, friendly and the Fish n Chips were great. There was one small arcadebthat was clean and well maintained. Kids got a good haul from the 2p coin pushers. If you're this way on sometime check it out.
Had been hoping I could custimise DWM a little while I was on holiday and play a bit of Diablo. Not had time to code and I forgot my mouse. Tried playing Diablo with touchpad on the first night; it was almost doable but I could see myself easily getting killed in lower dungeons.
So, I had a OnePlus 6T which I thought I'd killed the mic on (did an update to Edge and dropped it around the same time). Tried downgrading. Tried an apk fix. No joy, so I bought and flashed another cheaper 128GB model. Today I came across someone with the same issue #2120 on the postmarket pmaports issues list. Long story short: delete /var/lib/alsa/asound.state and reboot. Tried that and I now have two working Linux phones OP6T 8G 128GB and a OP6T 8G 256GB... any suggestions on how to break it to the Wife?
The OnePlus 6T runs PostmarketOS sooo well. Few things not working just yet like the camera but all in all its in good shape. Excitedly awaiting a "new" one since I managed to bust the mic on this current one.
My OnePlus6T had a drop the other day due to a dodgy pocket :'( Not sure if it's that or the PostmarketOS switch to edge but my mic stopped working. Downgrade of PMOS didn't revive it. Looks like I'll be doing a fresh flash on the weekend *Fingers crossed*
@elektito had a quick look at your capsule. Liking the content so far :)
What are the most unique uses or biggest "abuses" of the gemini protocol you're all aware of? I read that some people have used it to stream content.
Personally I can't get the idea of using it to access a remote drive/image out of my head. Data is encrypted during transit, you can use the client cert to restrict access. As gemini doesn't have persistent connections the performance might not be great but I can think of a few ways that it might be good enough for workloads that are heavier on reads than writes.
Finally doing something with my capsule. There's not alot there at the moment but feel free to check it out at: gemini://dimension.sh/~drh3xx/
Do any of you use Lagrange on multiple devices? Wondering if you have a slick setup to sync your bookmarks and identities/certs. So far I've been manually SCPing between devices.
Have been spending a bit of time trying out DWM. Not sure if I'll stick with it long-term yet but I've learned a few KSH and OpenBSD things getting a statusbar script put together. Just need to add battery charge level and current IP/network now to be on par with my old i3 statusbar config.
Has anyone come across any capsules containing good fiction in genres: horror, sci-fi or fantasy?
Have been debating whether to join the station since I first discovered the gemini protocol. Left Facebook and LinkedIn a while ago so wasn't sure if Station should have a place in my life.
I'm going to (rather obviously) give it a try. Gemini is great both in concept and content but sometimes I'd like to start a dialogue with other gemini users and the options are usually; you can't or it's via an "out of band" method such as Email or mainstream socials. Since I'd prefer to reduce my usage of those systems it doesn't leave many options :'(
