Does Lagrange Support Socks 5 Proxy? — Dear @skyjake does Lagrange support socks 5 proxy like, for instance, Firefox? I don't acutally need it since Gemini is fast also on slow connection or limited bandwidth, so it is basically just out of curiosity… but if it could be possible I would definetely use Lagrange behind my personal socks proxy.

Finally got around to compiling Lagrange from source for my OnePlus6T w/PostmarketOS (Phosh) with the mobile UI. Other than having to discover the correct pkg names for the dependancies on PMOS/Alpine it was super easy. The on device build time wasn't too bad at all either :)

In gemalaya, when i go to the BBS subspaces list, the number of the link for the Lagrange sub is good old "42", screenshot as proof: [https link] [https link] Can you believe it ? Surely just a coincidence ...

Do you use libwebp to display webp images? Apparently there is a security flaw in the library CVE-2023-4863

Re: Theme palette tune-ups, particularly for Colorful Light. — [gemini link] Skyjake's "The Busy Phase" I use the Colorful Light theme all the time during the day and Colorful Dark during the night. It's what's making my Gemini experience in Lagrange quite fun. I love it! And I hope the new theme variations will be a new theme in case I like the old one better. 🙏

Could Lagrange show the cert details when a cert is untrusted? Like maybe a details button that shows the CN and the SAN names before accepting the connection. I am occasionally hitting sites that have the wrong address and it would be helpful to see the supposed valid addresses when deciding if to accept the connection

Feature request: export user data via cli arg — It would be really nice if we had the ability to use something like `lagrange --export-user-data` instead of having to export it from the app. The reason I would like such a feature is so that I could have a scheduled task export the data to my sync directory periodically. This would make it easier to keep Lagrange in sync on my devices.

Sharing my Lagrange UI and Page appearance — I managed to arrive at a reasonable set of appearence settings. maybe some of you would enjoy these, too For some reason, I don't see settings in the backup. these are in the prefs.cfg file that didn't get exported. I can send you mine if you'd like. On Windows you can find it in [preformatted] P.S I wanted to provide the path using a preformatted line type, but for some reason it didn't work. Hence the quote type

Broken Identity Import Behavior — Missing file chooser for importing identities The interface for importing an identity breaks with usual practice because there is no file chooser and it does not support traditional middle click paste behavior. We don't all use drag-and-drop enable desktop environments or those which support CUA style cut and paste.

— November’s Gemlog: 2023-08-20 — Dark mode/light mode

Re: Dark mode/light mode — @november laments the lack of automatic dark/light mode switching in Lagrange. The good news is that Lagrange is already fully equipped for this because it has been implemented for macOS and iOS. The bad news is that supporting this on further platforms requires specialized code for each platform. There's already a feature request open on GitHub about adding...

Use Lagrange styles for HTTP proxy — I really love the way Lagrange styles gemini sites, it looks simple, functional but also beautiful at the same time. I've 2 questions about: Would it be okey, to "copycat" those styles with all the colors, fonts and typography and use it for an http proxy or even sites that are not related to gemini at all? The other one is: Is there an overview of all the availble color schmemes Lagrange uses? Oh and also a 3rd question: Would it be possible to "manually"...

— v1.16.7 on git.skyjake.fi

Lagrange v1.16.7 released — A small patch addressing a couple of issues with streaming responses: Workaround for a potential stalling of window refresh when receiving a streaming response. (Observed at least on X11.) When stopping a streaming request, don't navigate back and instead keep showing the received page contents.

I am trying to explore SOCKS5 support for gemini clients, is that in Lagrange in some way? There was some talk about using TOR to access gemini servers on IRC and one option to do that would be to use the SOCKS5 interface to forward the DNS and socket connection to TOR and then to the .onion server but it seems that very few clients support that. Lagrange has some proxy configuration but in other ways so that I could not configure a TCP connect proxy.

Support for webp animated images possible? I have tried various image formats on gemini and found that Lagrange supports static webp images, but not animated ones. I am not sure if animated images are a priority, for now I assume only GIfs work

On mobile client I would really like to 'share' URL links from my internet browser into Lagrange. Use Case: I have Stargate proxy set up so websites are auto converted from HTML to gemtext. I would like to hit the share button in my internet browser and select Lagrange to paste+go URL into.

Odd cert error when using chain/privkey from letsencrypt — I have written a gemini server in Java using vert.x and am using a cert generated by letsencrypt for that. When I use chain.pem/privkey.pem on first access of the server, the trust message is kind of odd since it shows the Lets encrypt CA as certificate and not my domain. The same works when using cert.pem instead which does not include any additional cert. I guess this...

Is the Android app still being worked on? — I recently stumbled upon it, and it seems really good except for one major issue I've been having. None of the UI is being detected When I say show labels in voice access. Which means instead of being able to say tap send, I have to show grid and navigate to the send button manually.

Remote Bookmarks I was trying to export my current bookmarks and put them onto a server to use as remote bookmarks. What is the format for the remote bookmark file? Handling of whitespace indentation — I am currently playing a bit with a protocol called Nex which is kind of like gemini but with less features created by the owner of midnight.pub. This is similar to gemini in the sense that it uses a text format with links as =>. I wrote a nex2gemini gateway as CGI script and have used Lagrange to view that (along with Amfora) and I noticed that Lagrange does not handle whitespace indent...

i am using own build of lagrange for mobile linux (described a bit at [gemini link]). i wonder if it is possible to use the same identity i use here on motorola droid 4 running maemo leste on my desktop linux machine. i found idents directory in .config/lagrange as well as idents.lgr file. if i sync those files will i be able to use same identity from both devices? is it how it is supposed to be when using gemini protocol or it is supposed to have different identities from different devices?...

Probably a stupid question and I’m overlooking something, but how do I import user data into the Mac desktop app? I exported the zip on my iPhone but can’t find an import on Mac.

Crash when opening Preferences if the ENABLE_DOWNLOAD_EDIT build option is disabled. (Flatpak was crashing.) Modified tab creation behavior slightly: the button in the tab bar now adds tabs always to the right edge, and so does the "New Tab" menu items.

Is it possible to set custom keys to use when pressing F to open a link? I recently decided to try out lagrange, and it seems pretty cool so far! but, I don't use a qwerty keyboard, so I miss out on the benefits of having the letters be in convinient places. (also, side note: i'm interested in helping out with translation, I saw the toki pona one was rough around the edges. Where does one start with that?)
