Retinal Recovery: Four Months Later

First the Bad News: Due to convoluted stupidity involving needing to prove a disability so that it will pay for the visits and surgeries that prove disability, my stepdad's insurance has stonewalled.

Because that insurance was theoretically there blue cross wasn't paying in anything and 'last notice before going to collections' is due to be sent out. Basically neither insurance wanted to pay out because the other existed. Which to me serves as prime example of why mixing profit and healthcare is stupid and hurtful, but I live in my parent's basement and don't have a job so what do I know?

Considering /JUST THE EXAMINATIONS/ for retinal issues have so far totaled near $5000 plus I don't even want to think about for the surgery that /SAVED THE VISION IN MY RIGHT EYE/ and I would be well past fucked ? I have... Opinions on the state of the healthcare system.

Now the Good News: According to the pictures taken and tests run both eyes are stable, in good shape (or at least not deteriorating) and the surgery 'went about as well as could reasonably be expected.' Mind you no line appears truly straight in my right eye, but the warping is minimal adnd normally ignoreable unless I'm looking for it, or it's a long high contrast straight line like you'd find from a piece of pre-primed trim board.

my net retina appointment is in six months (4/20/22.) I go to get an eval for glasses next wensday and the actual glasses probably a week after that. I dunno if we're going bifocals, or one pair distance, one pair readers, or bifocals with a pair of dedicated readers.
