Iβve been doing spaced repetition for about 4 years and itβs amazing to see the long term results. I now regularly get flashcards over a year old and my brain has no problem finding them. SRS is the best thing you can do to retain information long-term. π§
FYI: I mostly use Anki (π) and create flashcards for languages Iβm learning. SRS work for anything, of course, not just vocab. I do have a few other decks containing ideas, quotes, and prompts I want to retain as well.

I tried Anki for some speficic topics, the main point is to use it daily. I couldn't keep up the pace for more than a few weeks, but it was really useful already. Β· 11 months ago
@averphos Write your own cards (avoid picking decks from others). The act of writing them yourself is a key part of forming the memory. Be harsh with yourself in your answers β better to see things more often if they're not super easy to recall. With language specifically, always add sentences to give the word/words/phrase context. That'll really help you store and recall it, vs. individual uncontexualised words. Hope that helps! Β· 11 months ago
Have been wanting to do this myself. Any tips on getting started, that you wish you had known at the start? Β· 11 months ago

Could anybody recommend your favourite Android app for flashcards? Β· 11 months ago
