HIGH TIDE in Limerick city has brought heavy flooding in the wake of
Storm Agnes.

A number of areas along the River Shannon in the city have been flooded
in the wake of the major storm.
The footpath and road along O'Callaghan Strand are currently under
inches of water, while Clancy Strand and the Potato Market are also
said to be flooded.

The area behind the Hunt Museum and Sarsfield House is also flooded.
Limerick City and County Council have already deployed flood barriers
around the city following "a High Tide advisory from the Office of
Public Works ".
High tide was at 6pm approximately this Wednesday evening, and the
flooding should ease as it receeds.
A status yellow wind warning for Limerick is in place since 7am and
remains in effect until midnight.
