I'm curious... I went with my trusty Lagrange and I got it downloading infinitely the stream. What is the recommended set up to listen over Gemini?

@ResetReboot is it not playing back audio while downloading? Is this over mobile or desktop? AFAIK, there aren't any media players (yet) which support the playback of gemini protocol streams, but the https/http links should work fine. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and test out what does and doesn't work w/ this stream, as it's a cgi script as courtesy of @clseibold which proxies the http audio as a gemini stream.

Feel free to stream in, btw, and make a post when you do so that anyone is invited to take a listen. :)

This can serve as a good testing ground for how audio works on clients for different people via this link

My test was with Lagrange desktop on Debian GNU/Linux. I even updated to the latest to check it out. It starts to download the stream, but pressing play on the controls that Lagrange shows do not play the music, and keeps downloading more, non-stop.

Maybe there's some setting I need to adjust?

@ResetReboot Are you using the AppImage? It appears the AppImage also doesn't work with audio.

Oh, is that? Hm.... another point lost for Appimages. Where's good old .deb? ;-)

@ResetReboot I have just told skyjake about the issue with the AppImage, so it might be something he could fix. You can use lagrange's Flatpak instead, which does work according to @flipperzero . There's also the ability to build it yourself, but you have to make sure mpg123 is installed and turn on this optional feature when building lagrange.

@clseibold I went and compiled it myself and now I'm able to listen. Great thing to see streaming audio over Gemini working.

When do we get a how to? ;-)
