Bronzie posted five questions for August.
I love the idea, so I figured I'd give these questions a go!
1. What is the last item of physical a/v media you bought?
The last thing I bought was a vinyl album, "Lightning at the Door," by All Them Witches.

I don't buy a lot of physical media these days, but I nearly always buy a record at a show if the band or performer is selling them. Generally, these sales are great reminders of the show and "off the books," meaning that a lot of the proceeds of the sale go directly to the band and not through the record company and other various middle-men. T-shirts, too!
All Them Witches is just a great, jammy good time. Also: fun fact, the singer, Charles Parks, totally bummed a cigarette off of C. while we were waiting at the door to get in. He's super nice, and the show was sooooo good.
2. Does your first IRL (non media fantasy) crush know how you felt about them?
Oh yeah! We totally went on a dance together in 5th grade. I was so smitten, but puppy love being what it is, she and I moved on to other pastures when we went to different middle schools. Actually, I love this question a lot because that was such a sweet memory!
3. 1994 or 2014? Why?
The mid-2010s were really rough for me, and 2014 was just a little bit after my mom passed away. 1994 was pretty great, but I was just a wee thing so don't remember too much from it. I would say that it was a better year for gaming, but 1996/1997 were definitely peak gaming years for me. I'm gonna go with 2014, though. Being an adult and a parent is pretty great. :)
4. City or Countryside?
City, by far. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy space, at least in small doses, but I just really like the buzz of civilization and meeting all sorts of neat folks, visiting niche stores that wouldn't survive elsewhere, and going to see live music!
5. If offered either of the following for free, which would you choose - 2020 Apple Silicon Macbook or 1982 Grid Compass 1011
This probably goes against the grain here, but I'm really not *that* into retro computing, so Macbook for me. I enjoy tinkering, but not necessarily to get old gear back up and running, trying to shoehorn modern needs for fun. I don't know much about Macbooks these days, and frankly it'd probably wind up with linux or BSD on it, but I'm sure the hardware's pretty nice and Apple laptop batteries tend to outlast every other laptop I've used. I'm plenty happy with my ThinkPad X250, though! :^)
That was fun! Thanks for the questions, bronzie!
Until next time, be well!
