5 Questions for August

As per:

gemini://multiverse.thruhere.net/5q/202008-1.gmi

I know I'm late, but here we go :)

1. What is the last item of physical a/v media you bought?

Spirituality and Distortion by Igorrr. I got the box set, number 390/1000 limited edition that comes with transparent red vinyl, a Compact Cassette and a CD version of the album. And a puzzle, and an art book. One of my favourite artists!

2. Does your first IRL (non media fantasy) crush know how you felt about them?

She certainly does. Though my memories of high school are hazy at best, particularly in terms of timing, but I'm pretty sure it was Misty, one year I got enough courage to send her a rose for Valentines day and she very politely thanked me for it and let me know she wasn't interested.

3. 1994 or 2014? Why?

In 1994 I was 12, just starting high school. Fuck going back to that, so 2014. That was a pretty stable year I think, just after my horrible year of 2013 where I had migraines, cancerous moles removed, which got infected and caused septicemia, and then shingles. So yeah, 2014 was good in contrast!

4. City or Countryside?

Countryside. While I do enjoy the conveniences of city life I long for more space.

5. If offered either of the following for free, which would you choose - 2020 Apple Silicon Macbook or 1982 Grid Compass 1011

I'll be back after I google what on earth a Grid Compass 1011 is!

Ok so it's the first 'laptop' computer. I would not find it at all useful except perhaps in an excercise to write 8086 assembler or something? So, I'll take the ARM based laptop. I'd probably muck about trying to put Debian or FreeBSD on it!
