japan has finally opened up and we'll be moving soon! i can't wait to be back and see my friends again, eat ファミチキ and take baths in water that doesn't hurt my skin! this all also means this month will be busy though.. i've switched gears, or at least mostly, to organize and get everything ready. after six months of camping in a furnished apartment (not the worst but ya know..) it's exciting to finally start living again!
i've mostly been learning scandinavian languages over the past few months, and i feel like i've made a lot of progress with that! i haven't had too much practice with swedish honestly still but i'm starting to be able to read and understand it more spoken.
i think i'm going to put my language learning on pause for a while, which means i'll basically just occasionally look at stuff in faroese/icelandic/swedish but not actively seek it out to study. i still learn this way, it's just slower and i can only improve in a few specific areas.
so i own like eight internet domains now but i'm only planning on renewing three of them. i started making a few clean html pages but i feel like progress has been slow.. i got a blinkies page though that's generated by a bash script which i'm pretty happy about though!

so it turns out all of my problems with freebsd were unique to 13.0 release, and downgrading to 12.3 fixed literally everything. i'm really really happy with it! i only have one thing that bugs me now: there's an awful screeching when i use headphones. i can ignore it but it'd definitely not good for my ears :/
my x18 laptop has been gathering dust since i moved completely. i'm thinking i want to reinstall *something* on it but it's not my top priority right now with the move... though it might be good to have a backup linux machine. or maaybe i could experiment with triple booting bsd/linux/windows? that sounds fun (both sarcastic and not)
so when i enter japan i have to install this spyware so they can track me. it's nice that they offer apks that don't require google services!
........did you really think so? (lol) i set up a seperate user container on graphene os and put the apps on it (always fun downloading apps with 1.8 and 2.0 star ratings!) i don't know if they'll work correctly since i can't get google developer services through the aurora store for some reason.
i want to err on the safe side with this so i'll reinstall lineageOS with gapps just for this and maybe move back to graphene after the move. i haven't reinstalled my phone's os in almost two years so i'd say i'm overdue anyways >w<
