They released the latest and last one w/ the announcement it’d be down soon, right? Would it be ethical, say for instance, if mirrors were made to make sure it’s still made available? I suppose that’d be left up to permission granted expressly from baud themselves if that’s possible to do so. I loved being able to listen in in these mixes, they inspired me to attempt putting up my own audio via gemini. Glad to see it leave a legacy here, deeply embedded in the history of the gemini protocol.

Just double checked and cat gave express "heartfelt" permission to backup, archive, mirror, redistribute the konpeito mixtapes. There is a post on fedi announcing this exactly one year ago today.
As someone who is very sad they missed this boat, I would be eternally grateful for an archived copy. I'm happy to seed a torrent as well, I can make one if no one else has done so.

@kelbot I think perhaps the time machine only saved the first 5246976 bytes of each mp3. They all say they're about 30 minutes long but after downloading there's only a couple minutes of song, and they're all the exact same size. So perhaps they're not the full files.

I absolutely loved Konpeito, and coded SpellBinding while listening to all of it! It is timeless, in Gemini-time. I was really sad to have it end.

Is it too early to be nostalgic about KONPEITO? When I first got acquainted with Gemini and started working on Lagrange, these mixtapes provided a soundtrack that really put me in the right mood for the Smolnet. Anyway, KONPEITO is going down at the end of the month, so download/enjoy while you can.
