=============================
First entry in the capsule log. Finally starting to feel like I've moved in, even though it's just the indexes and abouts so far. But the rooms are there, and stuff will fill them with time.
Yet another 100ºF day today, and I still haven't sorted out A/C in my office. And the work laptop is overheating something fierce, even with Windows' power settings limiting the CPU to 40%. Admittedly, part of that's probably down to having to run multiple instances of Chrome and a whole entire VM even while idling; corporate infrastructure is absurd sometimes. And the modern web. And .Net. And Windows.
This is one of those BS code-monkey jobs, is what I'm getting at. But hey, it's not so bad as to kill my will to live, and it keeps the bills paid.
But oof, I really can't leave that A/C situation unresolved. It was 90ºF+ in there even _with_ both a fan and whole-unit evap cooler going full-blast. Kind of ridiculous, honestly; I'd laugh if it wasn't literally causing heatstroke. The rest of the place is tolerably cool, thankfully. Dunno what it is about the office that it has such crap ventilation.
Update, not ten minutes later: my wife has patched together the broken vent duct for the single-room A/C. Duct tape actually being used for ducts! What a concept. Hopefully it's enough.
