Do any of you use Lagrange on multiple devices? Wondering if you have a slick setup to sync your bookmarks and identities/certs. So far I've been manually SCPing between devices.

So Lagrange seems to save the bookmarks even if there is ni edit... Maybe you should try the .gmi file way with a startpage? I don't sync certificates at all... i just export/import them if needed. · 5 months ago
@devyl the contents of .config/lagrange/ and its subdirs. Ive excluded .pid, prefs.cfg, state* and visited*. Just updating my bookmarks on one system results in a conflict :( I've not created a new identity yet. · 5 months ago
What are you syncing exactly? Conflicts are not the normal for me but i also don't sync application settings at all. I sync just a .gmi file which is the startpage of my clients. So i can't use the internal workflows of the browsers to make/edit bookmarks but it works without sync errors for me :) · 5 months ago
@sirwilburthefirst I am for now but I keep getting update conflicts that I have to manually reconsile. With only my mobile and laptop set to sync so far Im a bit surprised Im having conflicts as only using a single device at a time. TBH though Im surprised how little the battery on my phone has been impacted by running Syncthing. · 5 months ago
@drh3xx are you using synthing with your phone as well? If so are you able to sync Lagrange data with it? · 5 months ago
I got syncthing setup lastnight. So far Ive had a few instances where Ive had to resolve conflicts for bookmark updates. Or be extra careful not to have multiple devices running Lagrange concurrently. Mabe a source patch to support storing in a redis cluster would be beter? · 5 months ago
I am using bitwarden to store the certs and copy them into lagrange on the other machine until now, I have not done any other syncing. It might be worth trying syncthing for that using a linux machine that is always on, but I have not tried · 5 months ago
@devyl @sirwilburthefirst @gritty thanks for the comments. I've given syncthing a look and it sounds like it might be a good fit; just want to deep dive the docs before making the final call. I think I've heard it name dropped on either youtube somewhere or solene over on dataswamp but it slipped my mind for some reason. · 5 months ago
ha I see devyl already mentioned syncthing · 5 months ago
I haven't tried it but I'm guessing syncthing could help(?) people rave about it. not sure how the setup would go.
I, too, have a bookmarks page on my capsule and use that. I manually move around my certs

it would be cool if there was a syncing standard that browsers could implement. so you could host your own syncing server for all of these things. · 5 months ago
I sync my bookmarks via a local .gmi file which i use as start page across some devices and clients. i use lagrange on macOS, Linux (desktop), Librem5, Sailfish OS - Amofra on DevTerm and OpenPandora. I sync via Syncthing · 5 months ago
