Re: "Hierarchical subreddit system"

Comment in: s/Bubble

The most obvious problem with it is that reality doesn't order neatly into hierarchies. In addition, you'll need a controlled vocabulary, which means you're designing a library not a fun social media site. All your top level concepts will be pre-mapped, and the owners will be squatting on it. This is a return to Digg.

I predict the politics of this design will be explosive as top level power mods take responsibility for everything that happens in the lower subs. I'm predicting massive amounts of politically motivated overmoderation.

At least in Reddit's design, only an admin can delete your sub, and only for *good* reason, i.e., you voted for the wrong candidate, or laughed at the wrong joke.

Also, does it ever look terrible. https://weco.io/s/all/posts

Everything I hate about the web in one place. Plus it's another Reddit 2.0. Just looking at it makes me psychotic.

Hierarchical subreddit system โ€” Has anyone seen this before? [https link] Seems to be some sort of hierarchical subreddit system.
