This is a gemlog for the SpellBinding puzzle, in which you construct words using the specified letters (each word must contain the anchor letter).
BIKING BIKINI BING BINGING BINNING BUGGING BUNG BUNGING BUNK BUNKING BUSK BUSKING BUSS BUSSING GIBING IBIS NUBBIN SNUB SNUBBING SUBBING UNBUNG
Pangram: BUSKING (entertaining in public for a donation)
Every day brings some amusing words, doesn't it.
Today the word of the day is BUNG, the stopper that fits into a bunghole (and the act of BUNGING, or stoppering the bunghole -- also possibly describing a sex act). A bunghole is the fill hole for an oil drum or a cask. In a pinch, BUNG or especially 'bunghole' can stand for 'asshole'. At some point one must UNBUNG the bunghole that has been BUNGed. As an aside, I once met a woman whose dad made a fortune in the 70's making pretty much all the bungs for oil barrels...
BINGING is another form of bingeing (excessively consuming, a word apt for our society at large). BING is a curiosity: there are:
A BUNK is a bed or nonsense which you could debunk.
SUBBING is an abbreviation for substituting, in use since 1853, and therefore achieving a real verb status.
To SNUB someone (and the act of SNUBBING) is to slight them or treat them with contempt. However there are a few other meanings: you can SNUB out a cigarette, or SNUB an anchor chain by wrapping it around a cleat; you can generally SNUB (terminate) some action, such as noise or vibration.
And that was enough to make my NUBBIN (a small lump or a stunted piece; an imperfect ear of corn; un undeveloped fruit) hurt. Interpret that as you may.
Another highly educational day.
