A small Linux-based tilde community. Sadly, I've mostly neglected growing and tending to it and am in the process of reshaping it into something else. Still, it was fun for awhile.
The Brutalist Report is a news aggregator for people who want a simple, reliable, and performant online experience. Small web services that are built using simple HTML and CSS with no JavaScript or complex client-side processing.
It won't be for everyone. Some will deem it too spartan. Too rigid and stuck in the 90s. That's okay. This isn't for them. It is for those of us who long for a return to the uncomplicated elegance of the early web. For those who believe that less is more.
In 2016 I downloaded every comment ever made on reddit since its founding and extracted haikus that existed (usually unintentionally) amongst the comments because....well why not. This is a web page that showcases them all and allows for rudimentary voting on them. I would eventually like to redo this procesing of data with a more up-to-date dataset and expand on the data some more to capture original links, authors, and timestamps as well.
A ridiculous and essentially abandoned project that operates in maintenance mode which does live sentiment analysis on reddit's r/wallstreetbets and r/investing subreddits to extract what stocks are being spoken about the most. I started this project shortly before the big GME hoopla and so it came in handy back in that timeframe. I have not maintained it since but keep it online as it dutifully processes comments.
