So you want to learn the copy and paste spell, do ya? Ha! I remember back in the day when I learned that one. Good times. It is a rite of passage, neophyte. No small task. But I am thrilled to see you so eager to learn!
To begin your adventure, you must enter the first astral plane with ^b. From here, you can ask the great TMux for assistance by activating the word "help" -- er, "h" -- er.. "?".
Once you see the helpful tome before you, you will then learn skills the same way _all_ great skills must be learned: alphabetically.
However, because you are new and eager, I will skip 39 days of learning. I'll also omit the awesome "choose client from list" spell — whose runic name is obviously 'd' because 'd' isn't in its earthly name.
You may have noticed a curious feature of the first astral plane. Runic names don't relate to their earthly names. This is by design. "Runic names and earthly names shall never share a thread!” said the great Marriotta back in BFP 2007. And so it is, even with "copy."
Ahem, back to the spell.
From within the bounds of the ^b astral plane, you shall travel northeast to locate the unpronounceable '['. Activate it, and behold! ye shall ascend into the SECOND astral plane, known by its earthly name, "copy mode."
From there, you shall travel far south to the great compass, Arrowkey. With it, you are free to wander your mind around the second astral plane as you wish, so that you may mark the beginning of your desires.
But this is not the end of your journey. Once you locate the start of your desires, you must travel — not back to ‘[‘ — but due west to the big Bar of Space. DO NOT STEP ON IT. First, go to the Altar of CTRL, activate it, THEN press the big Bar of Space, otherwise you will accomplish nothing.
The second astral plane is finicky like this.
At this point, you have bound your mind to Mark One. Travel east, back to Arrowkey. With the great compass at your command, encircle the limit of your desires. Helpfully, The Great TMux will color all of your desires in bright orange. That's kinda cool, isn't it?
After your desires are fully encircled, travel — not west back to the great Bar of Space — but instead to the far, far northwest, before The End of the World Where Only Q Doth Lie, and activate rune 'W', meaning "copy." — BUT DON'T JUST STEP ON IT. Detour southward to the _actual_ edge of the world, activate the CTRL Altar, THEN touch the 'W.' Otherwise you will accomplish nothing.
Finicky, you see.
If all goes as planned, you have suddenly been kicked out of all astral planes. It may come as a shock to you, but behold! The Real World. You have copied!
Now it is time to paste. It’s a much shorter journey this time, so bear with me.
Enter the first astral plane once more, with ^b, and travel to the far, far northeast, before The End of the World Where '\' Doth Lie, and activate the unpronounceable ']', meaning "paste." — DO NOT ACTIVATE THE CTRL ALTAR, for you will accomplish nothing.
Again: finicky. You must always respect the Finick who lives in Astral Plane #2, or live a life of unmet desires.
If you performed this incantation correctly, you have both copied, and pasted. Congratulations!
Alas, you may have been too distracted during your adventure. You may have forgotten to properly configure your windows on the earthly plane between astral travels, and have pasted somewhere weird. For example, the Astral Land of the Vimm, which of course interprets your desires as arcane commands and not the thing itself. Whoops.
But do not worry, neophyte. Just like I did back when I was your age, you will practice this incantation over and over, and over again. You shall come to know it by its magical name, ‘^B[^ ^W^B]’. And at that moment, at the height of your skill, you will discover the true meaninglessness of life, and thus be awarded your +3 wisdom.
