It rained most of the morning and was cold, damp and grey all day. With jackets and umbrellas our morning walk up through Galbally reserve to Poath road, around the block and back through the park was almost entirely devoid of people; no dog walkers, no cyclists, no joggers, only two or three people hurrying to the station to get to work. The Rainbow lorikeets[1] didn't seem to mind, there were plenty of them shrieking from up in the gum trees in Galbally reserve and darting between the trees, flashes of colour against the grey, then closer to home a few Noisy miners[2] made their presence known, chattering and shrieking, but all up a very quiet and subdued kind of day.
