Light to moderate rain all day, the clearest it got was an hour or so around lunch time when the sun came through for a while. A quieting and dampening effect on all the birds around, the wattlebirds I've seen recently in the garden didn't show up, all we had was a small flock of Common mynas[1] sitting dejectedly, dripping, in the plum tree and on the shed roof. Noisy flyovers from Rainbow lorikeets[2] foraging, then nothing much all day until on dusk when I could hear, but not see, a couple of Brown thornbills[3] calling to each other from the depths of the bay laurel -- at least I'm 95% certain that's what they are.
