We've had 24mm of rain over the weekend until this morning and so everything is wet, wet and cold. Out walking during my lunchbreak there are magpies[1] galore on lawns and gardens all busy digging for worms and insects in the soft soil, warbling and calling to each other and keeping a way eye on the pedestrians, making sure that nobody gets too close.
