Seeing if I can get my daily updates back to daily. Another afternoon ride on a quiet grey overcast day, one of those strangely non-summer days that we seem to get in December. A few spots of rain and very few people about. Off along one of my fairly standard afternoon rides, hunt it up on strava or my website to see the exact route.
Anniversary trail, Ferndale track, Glen Iris wetlands; the Rainbow lorikeets[1] in the treetops extra active and noisy with the light rain. In the wetlands only a few coots[2], some small boys throwing sticks at them, and a couple of families of Dusky moorhens[3] stalking around on the very smelly mudflats. No sign of the turtle in the pond, or the carp in the creek
