There was 48mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am, luckily it was dry by the afternoon as I went out for my daily ride. Expecting the creeks and parks to be flooded I stayed well away from them and did a lap of a few suburbs and of course spotted nothing of interest, so today's note is once again on the local cicadas.
Yesterday we spotted a Green grocer[1] clinging to the side of the house, sheltering from the rain, and again today it was in the same spot. Still alive, but barely moving and there looks to be something wrong with its wings, I'm not sure if it never hatched fully or was somehow deformed, but it doesn't look as though they ever filled out properly and the last third of them is crumpled and only half-open
