Left at home alone I decided to walk up to the local shops for a banh mi for lunch, and to eat it in the park under the trees -- an excellent decision as it turned out.
Shortly after sitting down with a view of one of my favourite trees -- the very large Bunya bunya[1] in Warrawee park I got to watch the gak-ak-ak birds attacking the floppy fliers...
Or slightly more understandably, a nesting pair of Masked lapwing[2] were swooping, harrassing and screeching at a small flock of three or four Yellow-tailed black cockatoos[3], the latter my favourite birds. The cockatoos were flying lazily from tree to tree, trying to get away, but each time they settled one of the lapwings would chase it out of the branches
