Duster

May 2008 - August 5th 2023

2023-08-07 | #life

Duster passed away at the emergency vet a couple days ago, August 5. We rushed him in because of labored breathing, inability to stand up, and he was incredibly weak.

They quoted us a five hour wait time. We were in and out probably two hours. They took him back immediately and put him in the oxygen tank.

When the vet finally got out of surgery with another pet she took a look at him and told us his heart murmur was back - which did not show up on the EKG, because it seems to be only stress-induced. She said he was in a critical state and had very low expectations of him surviving any tests or procedures.

So we made the heart wrenching decision to let him go.

We got to hold him as he went. I can still see his dead face when I close my eyes.

I miss him so much
