Of all the famous words spoken in extraordinary situations and for the first time something is done, this is my favourite.
Never before had radio equipment been used in-flight. In 1910 an airship was attempting to cross the Atlantic and had such equipment on board. Unfortunately they also took a cat. The cat did not like flying. So the first radio message in-flight was to tell someone on a boat below that they needed to catch a bag containing the cat which they were lowering down. The plan didn't work, but the cat calmed down and was pulled back up.
