Every month, 5 questions are asked by Bronzie for the smolnet to respond to.
1. 6 weeks on a ventilator with COVID, followed by long-term 40% reduced fitness for 18 months but open freedom, or no disease but 2 more years of hard lockdown? Why?
Well, clearly the lockdown. To what bad of a degree COVID really is, it was enough to cause a global pandemic. I don't want that. Another 2 years isn't as bad as ${unknownLongTermSideEffect}.
2. US to engage China over a Taiwan invasion, or US to engage Russia over a Ukraine invasion.
Both would pretty much have to go to war, so I would choose China. Although Russia and China are somewhat allies, assuming their relationship fell apart, most of the world would be against China other than North Korea. Russia, although less economically developed, has more allies like India. This could potentially lead to a devestating WW3 scenario.
3. Trump as US President again for 1 term, or Mike Pence for 2 terms
I'm not really educated enough on the matter to have a good opinion on this, but Mike Pence isn't orange, so I want him.
4. A year of Saturday dinners at your country's best restaurants, or a 3-day weekend of mind-blowingly fantasitic sex with your biggest crush.
The 3-day weekend, obvioussly. No matter how many filet mignon's I have, I can't buy that weekend back (maybe depends on the crush).
5. Work 3 8-hour days a week, retire at 50 but die at 70, or work 6 8-hour days a week, retire at 70, but live to 85
Assuming this is some crummy 9-5 job, I'd choose living to 70. Cutting off half of that work to cut off 15 years I think is pretty reasonable. If I was working for something I was passionate about, examples being making movies, books, etc, than that answer might differ.
