360 g rolled oats 240 g oat flour 500 g water 75 g oil 6 g salt 6 g sodium bicarbonate 6 g potassium bitartrate (cream of tartar)
1. Soak oats in water for 30 minutes
2. Mix salt, soda, and cream of tartar into oat flour
3. Stir oil into oats and water mix
4. Add flour mixture to oats and mix well
5. Shape dough on baking stone
6. Bake at 350F for about 80 minutes
Using cream of tartar is intended to activate the baking soda to produce a leavening effect.
Cakes were less dense than usual -- more cracker like, but had too much of a chemical after-taste.
