I still use MP3 Players, Its nice to have a dedicated thing to load up with music especially when you have many thousands and thousands of songs collected over the years. Anyone else still a part of the MP3 Player team?

I use Minidiscs and Cassettes myself. Something about physical media you just can’t replicate with digital, imo. · 2 years ago

@calgacus I once saw a comment about the nature of smartphones that i still keep in mind all these years later:

"A smartphone is like a swiss army knife, it does everything, but doesnt excel at doing anything particularly well" · 2 years ago

A little. I still have an old iPod loaded with music from around the time I was using it as my primary music device. Once or twice a year I'll put it in its speaker dock, have a beer, and reminisce. · 2 years ago

Dedicated devices for things is a refreshing way to think and act. I love my Kindle because it's just for reading, and doesn't do anything else. I don't use an mp3 player but I love my cassette player for the same reason—it's just a device for music, nothing else, and it works great at what it does. Weird how the "simiplification" that smartphones offer seem (to my mind) make things worse. · 2 years ago

Sort of - I bought a simple android phone for the sole purpose of playing audio. I use MortPlayer, which works really well for audio-books. · 2 years ago

If I didn't have a smartphone I would still be. I have all my music on an SD card that I just play with my phone. · 2 years ago
