Anyone here participating in the old computer challenge?

Either on old hardware, or by slowing down your modern PC. It starts on Monday, and seems like the kind of thing folks here would be into. :)

The Old Computer Challenge

They also have a site on the web, if you're into that

(I didn't think to scroll down and see if it had been posted before. Well... good news, this is a reminder >_>')

Nah. As a kid most of my hardware came from dumpsters; I remember what Pentium IIIs were like, and I have no desire to go back. If I ever get the MicroBee working, though…

How about you, mouseless?

Totally understandable, @totroptof !

Personally I am, and I kinda wish I was using properly old hardware, because it's been super easy so far. My GPU is terrible by modern standards, but still much better than ones of the era, which gives me a pretty big advantage. I've been watching 720p youtube videos (albeit not on the proper website) with no trouble at all. The only change I've made is disabling some of my janky & inefficient scripts I've written, because those were eating a good 50MB of ram lol

But even still, maybe the easiness just says a lot about how I like to use my computer, that I can do everything fine with half a gig of RAM & a crap CPU :P

Absolutely! I know I would struggle with that little memory.
