I've never been a diary/log-keeping kind of person, it feels kinda weird to just sit and write about myself and what I'm up to on a personal level. "Do I greet the reader? Actually, am I writing it to myself or do I direct the text to someone? And how do I even start this?" was just one of the thoughts that froze my fingers when I started to write this log. The feeling made think of @martin's vlog. On it he talks about why he started the vlog and how uncomfortable it is, specially the first time.
Even if this isn't really my ~first~ post at all, it's the first that I consider personal and the first I was at a loss as how to even begin.
Taking from @martin, I will try to write logs more often as a way to train my writing muscles and get over this "weird" feeling of just writting randomly about myself. I guess that's enough for some kind of intro.
Past few days I've been sick as hell. Feeling like my muscles were extracted, sewn into a punching bag, handed over to Bruce Lee to absolutely destroy, then re-attached to my bones. That's the best way I can describe it. Thankfully I'm recovering well, the wife has been taking great care of me. We've came across/made-up a soup recipee that is pretty great. Should be good for immunity and it's pretty delicious, also it's super easy to make.
Impromptu Fixer-Upper Soup:
- 2/3 cups of cooked beans
- 1/2 potato
- 1/2 carrot
- 4~6 cloves of garlic
- 1/1.5 onion
- Some cabbage leaves
- Some ginger slices¹
The measures are more of a estimate, depending on your taste, feel free to customize.
Ingredients can be added/removed at will, this is just what I did. I do recommend, though, that you always include garlic and ginger at least.
First, peel garlic cloves and leavem them whole. Cut everything else however you prefer, I usually go for potato in cubes, carrot in discs and cabbage leaves in strips, but you do you. Second, throw everything in a pressure pot covered with water, mix everything and add seasoning (whichever you prefer) and close the pot. Third, wait for the whistle. 15 minutes after the whistle, turn off the stove, wait for the pot's pressure go down and you're done. (If you don't have a pressure pot, it's the same thing but it takes more time to cook everything.)
That's it, delicious healty soup. It's being a real boon here.
¹- We didn't really use ginger when we made the soup here, there wasn't any and we didn't think about it. But writing now I realize it's a great addition to the recipee.
I've been thinking a lot about what kind of content to put on my personal capsule, recently there was a post on station asking for ideas. Amidst a few, I suggested mix-tapes. Finding the mix-tape section of Circumlunar Transmission issues was one of the first really cool things I saw on gemspace and that stuck with me a bit. So much so that I decided I'll be posting some stuff like that. I miss the times of sharing custom tapes/CDs, and my personal capsule seems like a good place to put this kind of things.
