hello again gemini

posted 13 july 2023

hi. it's been a while. well, actually i did post that vampire boys review but i can't really count it.

./vampireboys.gmi

speaking of it, i watched another gay vampire movie, love bites, and reviewed it as well. i should have mirrored it here as well.

love bites review

last year i went through the trenches and around october i dropped so many things. i barely been around gemini since then — most of the time by accidentally clicking lagrange. i think at least three of my plants died at astrobotany. i barely skimmed antenna.

and like. that's fine! the blogging (and by extension social media) mindset is all about The Update, but my capsule is a different beast. i put things in here when i feel like it, and it's not a mirror of my web presence. still i do feel kinda bad. i like it here. but yknow how it is with the brain. i dropped a bunch of stuff i liked because there was just so much overall.

anyway. i'd like to go back to tending this garden. i'll try to. my artwork page is terribly outdated and links are one of those things that annoy me a bit to set up. i'd kinda rather just toss them in a directory and let you sift through the index yourself, but alas that's not possible. have to do everything myself :weary:. it is all nice and tidy over on the web though! at least i upkept my website. and i set aside some time to revamp the gallery specifically.

so um yea. i'd like to port my thesis' write up over here. btw it was my thesis that collaborated to me dropping things lmao i was BUSY. but now that's done and over it. i graduated university. i got a job as an ux designer in late february. the job kinda sucks and pays like ass but beats job hunting.

oh and i'm also writing a little bit. my current project is a fictional analysis of italo calvino's the nonexistent knight as a lesbian romance. by fictional analysis i mean i'm being derivative of jorge luis borges and house of leaves and writing an analysis of a partially fake yuri version of the nonexistent knight. what can i say. i'd read the book before, for class in middle school, but upon reread last year i simply imprinted on agilulf and bradamante like a baby duck. the themes are there man i didn't make them up wholesale.

well, i think that's the update. the mainstream web is kinda falling apart but that's its constant state. enshittification and all that. but i'm comfy at neocities (with its weird blend of social media and actual static websites) and cohost (which scratches a similar itch to gemspace, and i've been treating like a hybrid of tumblr and this capsule), and tumblr is more or less holding on for now (but the threat is constant). this doesn't leave much leftover for this poor little capsule. i don't have that much to say all the time. which is fine. we'll see how things go. see ya :)
