Surprising moment 👩‍⚕️

I had a health checkup. They did a lot of tests and measurements, including riding an exercise bike wearing a moistened heart monitor and a blood pressure cuff. Seems I'm basically ok, and at low risk of the big bad diseases. I had a talk with a very nice doctor about any issues that might be bothering me.

Then the doctor offered me optional extra tests for testicular cancer and prostate cancer. Yes, let's go for it. And she asked me if I'd like a chaperone. No, because only my dignity was in danger. So a woman I'd only just met felt my testicles and put her finger up my backside. It was very... clinical. I wondered how many of those she had to do in a day.

Tangent 1: Emoji moment

In the title of this post you should see "female health worker" but you may see "woman" 👩 and "staff of Aesculapius" ⚕️ if your client/font/OS/whatever doesn't understand that those two things could and should be combined. Doing emojis correctly is harder than you might think. Here's a nice write up:

Tangent 2: smolZINE

I got a mention in smolZINE issue 10! Hello, anyone who came here because of that and found out a little more about my day than they really wanted to know.

If you haven't read smolZINE, it's a small zine about the small net. It highlights some interesting and/or curious corners of Gemeni that I might not otherwise read. Another good thing is that it's short, but each issue squeezes in good stuff.
