if i only had the opportunity to learn from my mistakes, i would learn from them, but there are too many thing you can't do twice: to tell the truth, the most important things you don't do twice, and therefore you can't do them better next time. you do something badly and you realize how well you could have done it, and you are willing to do it well next time. but the experience that follows is completely different and you make mistakes again. being prepared for that same experience does not prepare you for the next one.
