How to train your dragon — Had some fun with the kids watching this classic movie. Lots of cliches but they enjoyed it a lot, including all the suspense and dramatic scenes.

Maintenance day I took a day off from work today, partly because partner is out of town and I don't want to spend the day in a rush between the office and the kindergarden. I did some maintenance like cleaning the washing machine, which had an horrible stink - and removing unused apps from the laptop.

Blanc d'Algerie — I'm reading the first chapter of Blanc d'Algerie by Assia Djebar. It's not an easy read and I need to keep from the urge to go through the text too quickly. It's more akin to poetry than prose, with a tendency for concepts to be repeated in multiple ways, like a chant, a psalm. It gives me a feeling of familiarity though, with Fatema Mernissi and Mariama Bâ as previous authors who dealt with the same topics and milieu.
