In addition to the user and subspace exports, I'm thinking of doing a monthly Bubble export feature with all the posts that were made during a time window, or were commented on, across the entire site.

I keep thinking these monthly archives would be similar to mailing list archives. They don't have to be presented in the same way, but they could be made available as static browsable Gemtext files on some different server.

Yeah, it's a good idea. It acts as a historical archive. If something ever happens to Geminispace where it becomes difficult to maintain or whatever, at least the content can live on.

Tangent: If I were only going to visit a site once a week, and it had lowish traffic, I might prefer to scan through everything in one page instead of clicking through lots of user interface to see a bunch of small posts.

@cquenelle Do you mean something like a digest page with all posts and their comments included with full contents, starting from the time of your last visit?

Such a "catching up" feature could indeed be useful.

Yes that”s what I was thinking of.

What happens to the archives of May 2023, when in June 2023 someone deletes their Bubble account, which had posts from May 2023?

You likely need a "I'm okay with archiving my content" setting.

Past archives would essentially be immutable backups, so the account would disappear from the monthly archives from June onward only.

An option to be excluded from archiving sounds reasonable, if someone wants their posts to be more ephemeral. Maybe the archive could in that case still link to the original posts/comments if they still happen to exist in the live database, so conversations are less broken.
